  • Interesting anti-aging action,
  • detox,
  • Contains from 30 to 40% of proteins,

  • Helps keep cholesterol under control

  • Powerful ally for the most assiduous sportsmen who can recharge quickly.

Characteristics of Bee Pollen

Bee pollen has a soft and malleable consistency, and a sweet and aromatic, almost floral scent, which in some ways recalls that of raw honey. The color is variable, even if it usually assumes different shades of yellow; however, some pollen can be orange, violet or blue in colour, depending on the plant species from which they come.

In general, it can be said that the components of bee pollen are mainly represented by:

  • Water (about 60%);
  • Nitrogenous substances (35%): proteins, enzymes, coenzymes, amino acids (arginine, lysine, methionine…);
  • Carbohydrates (simple sugars);
  • Lipids (4-5%): essential fatty acids (alpha-linoleic acid [Omega-3], linoleic acid [Omega-6]), monounsaturated, polyunsaturated and saturated;
  • Vitamins (A, C, D, E, K, PP, B vitamins);
  • Growth hormones;
  • Mineral salts and trace elements (calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, phosphorus, iron, aluminum, manganese, copper);
  • Antibiotic factors;
  • Vegetable pigments and phytosterols (xanthophylls, carotenoids, flavonoids, beta-sitosterol, beta-carotene, lycopene, isoramnetin, quercetin, rutin)

Pollen has a much higher protein content than that contained in meat or fish, and contains about twenty different amino acids, many of which are essential (that is, that the human organism is unable to produce from only and must therefore be taken through food).

“According to some opinions, bee pollen is such a balanced and complete food that a human being could survive for a few months just by eating it. Naturally this is a provocation, but this underlines how precious bee pollen can be considered within any diet and in the presence of the most varied lifestyles.”
